Last Saturday, on St. George’s day, at St. Mary’s church a short ceremony to bless our new flags was made by Fr Jim Hobbs who kindly stepped in for Fr Owen. It’s some years since we have seen flags flying proudly at St Mary’s. The Friends of St Mary’s have sponsored a Union Jack and St George’s Flag. In the strong north easterly they took off at quite a pace. A Ukrainian flag was also hoisted to show our support for the people and their struggle.
