Owen David Edwards (34) is a Priest in the Church of God ministering in the Diocese of Manchester. Originally from the West Midlands, Owen spent most of his formative years in his mother’s native land of Wales. He holds qualifications in History and Theology from the University of Wales.
He prepared for ordination at St. Michael’s College, Llandaff and the St. Seiriol’s Centre for Theology for Discipleship and Ministry, during which Owen spent time on placement in Canada. It was there that he met his wife, Anna, a singer and teacher of music. They have one child, Henry, aged 14 months. Following relocation to Manchester, Owen served his title in the parish of St. Mary the Virgin, Prestwich, before moving to complete his curacy in the nearby parish of St. Paul, Kersal Moor.
In his spare time, Owen loves to read and spend time with his family and their German Shepherd cross, Loki. Owen is a self-confessed chocaholic, who also enjoys music, film, long walks in the countryside, and very occasionally playing (badly) for the Diocesan cricket team. An individual of generously international outlook, Owen is a fluent Welsh speaker, and maintains his Canada connection as Trustee of the Fellowship of the Maple Leaf. A Christian of Catholic conviction, Owen is a Priest Associate of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.
Owen and Anna are incredibly excited about embarking upon this next stage of their journey, and look forward to meeting and getting to know the people of Brede, Udimore, Beckley and Peasmarsh better in the coming months and years.
