UDIMORE CHRISTMAS FAIR

On Saturday the village held their annual Christmas Fair in the Village Hall, all proceeds to St Mary's Church. There was a good turn out of young to see Father Christmas and partake in the fun children's activities as well as meeting the donkey. The gift stalls looked wonderful, the produce stall was filled with enticing and delicious cakes, jams, preserves, savoury tarts as well as juice and dried flowers. As usual the Raffle, tombola, guess the weight of the Christmas cake and hamper drew crowds for a chance to win the wonderful prizes. Or you could just sit with tea or coffee, or mulled wine and mince pie and catch up with friends, new and old, in the cafe. As usual there was a chance to see what was going on in the village, with representatives of the Parish Council, Friends of St Mary's and 4 Charities.

Thank you to Neil Gordon for drawing the raffle, hamper etc. Well done to Lou Hutchins for winning the Hamper and Peter Rothery for guessing the correct weight of the Christmas Cake. Thank you also to winesdirectsussex.com for donating the red wine for the Mulled wine.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped contribute to the day, whether by setting up, clearing away, donating, planning or volunteering - your help was all invaluable. The event raised £1,550 for St Mary's church - an excellent result.
